Seven Selected to SAA All-Sportmanship Teams

CONWAY, Ark. - On Tuesday morning, the Southern Athletic Association released its All-Sportsmanship Team for the 2016 spring season. Among those honored were seven Hendrix College student-athletes, one from each fall sport. Caitlin Camper, Charlie Terry, Holly Heeb, Seth Peters, Nathan Myers, Symone Bennett and Holyn Radack were all recognized for their exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season.

Formed in 2011, the SAA places a special emphasis on good sportsmanship and fair play among all competitors.

Camper, a sophomore women's cross country runner from Hoover, Ala., placed 32nd at the SAA Championships and placed second at the Arkansas Division III Championships.

Terry, a freshman cross country runner from Bryant, Ark., was the top finisher at the Hokum Karem against the University of the Ozarks and placed second at the Arkansas Division III Championships.

Heeb, a sophomore field hockey player from St. Louis, Mo., scored seven goals and seven assists with two game-winning goals. She ranked third in the conference in assists and tied for seventh in points. Heeb was an All-SAA First Team and NFHCA All-Great Lakes Region First Team selection.

Peters, a senior football player from Greenbrier, Ark., was 225-for-303 passing for a 74 completion percentage, 3,013 yards, 26 touchdowns and a 182.8 efficiency. He also ran 82 times for 315 yards and three touchdowns. Peters led the nation in completion percentage and was third in efficiency, fifth in total offense yards, 10th in passing yards per game and 31st in passing touchdowns. He was an All-SAA First Team selection.

Myers, a junior men's soccer player from China Spring, Texas, recorded 107 saves, a .743 save percentage and a shutout in 1,346 minutes in goal. He led the SAA in saves and ranked fourth in save percentage. Myers was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team in 2014 as well.

Bennett, a senior women's soccer player from Kingwood, Texas, helped the Warriors to a school-record 11 wins. She was the team captain and anchored the defense that recorded eight shutouts. She also had one assist.

Radack, a senior volleyball player from Allen, Texas, helped Hendrix to their third straight SAA regular season and tournament titles and a trip to the NCAA Tournament Second Round. She recorded 226 assists, 3.90 per set, 15 aces and 85 digs in 58 sets. Radack ranked 11th in the SAA in assists per set.
